Utah man faces murder charge after allegedly stabbing Tinder date in his home
A Utah man will face a charge of first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his Tinder date to death inside his own home.
Ethan Hunsaker, 24, of Layton, Utah, called 911 just after 3am on Sunday morning, according to a Layton Police Department press release.
The man reportedly told officers he killed someone in his home.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 25-year-old woman on the floor with multiple stab wounds in her torso. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hunsaker told police he met the woman on the dating app Tinder just hours before. He picked the woman up at her home before they headed to a bar for drinks.
When they went back to his home, he allegedly choked the woman for about a minute before grabbing a kitchen knife. The woman attempted to fight back, according to court records.
“There are marks on Ethan’s arms, neck and shoulder area supporting the fight,” the court papers said, which were reviewed by ABC4 News.
Hunsaker kept begging police to shoot him when they were called to his home. He’s since been transported to Davis County Jail and awaits a court appearance. He was booked on one murder charge.
Police later identified the woman from Sunday morning's murder as Ashley Black of Layton.
