UTEP is second on list of top 10 budget-friendly universities

The University of Texas at El Paso has been rated second on a list of top budget-friendly universities.

Consumer finance company Pheabs evaluated 2,000 cities across the United States and created a top 10 list. The University of Florida in Gainesville came in first.

The criteria for the top budget-friendly universities were cost of living, socializing expenses and average attendance costs. The list is intended to help young people make an informed decision when selecting a college.

Why is UTEP budget friendly?

The study stated that UTEP offers an affordable education in a culturally rich border town. With a Cost of Accommodation Index of 8/10, students find reasonably priced housing options in El Paso. The city's lower living costs allow students to stretch their budgets, while UTEP's high-quality programs, particularly in engineering and business, make it a top choice for those seeking an excellent education without breaking the bank."
