Utica graduate Elliott powers Trine to NCAA regional softball title
Scarlett Elliott helped send the Trine University softball team to the NCAA Division III Super Regional round on Sunday.
Elliott, a Utica graduate, doubled twice and scored twice during the Thunder’s 6-0 victory against North Central College. The Thunder, who went 3-0 in regional play, begin competition in a super regional on Friday.
Elliott, a sophomore third baseman, is hitting .289 with four home runs, two triples, 11 doubles and 24 RBI for Trine. The Thunder are 30-11 and previously won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association title.
