New utility line worker training program aims to help Maryland's infrastructure

A new training center in Severn aims to get more people the skills and certifications they need to get into the electric utility industry. Line workers are on the job to keep the power on and neighborhoods safe. It's far from a typical desk job, but for the line workers, their office is up in the air, out in the elements, working on power lines. But there's much that goes into doing this work and much to learn before people can work on the lines. By training people in an important trade, the Mid-Atlantic Lineman Training Center is meeting a universal need.
