UW tour to pass through Basin

Jun. 10—The University of Washington is hitting the road again.

The UW's Faculty Field Tour will bring instructors from the state's largest institution of higher learning on a jaunt around the state, including a stop in Ritzville, according to an announcement from the university..

The tour bus will make a counter-clockwise tour around the state, the announcement said, starting with Mount St. Helens, and a stop in Vancouver. Then they'll visit Yakima Farm Workers' Clinic and Heritage University before heading on to the Tri-Cities and a visit to Hanford.

From there the bus will go on to Spokane, but not before stopping at Schoessler Farms in Ritzville to see a working wheat farm. Washington produces more wheat per acre than any other state, according to the Washington Wheat Commission, almost all of it in Eastern Washington.

The final leg of the tour will be a trip to Grand Coulee Dam and a visit to the Colville Reservation, according to the announcement.
