The Vacaville Farmers Market welcomed the community for the first time this season. The Market was originally scheduled to open April 18, but that was pushed back to two weeks later. Organizers made sure shoppers didn't linger or visit as much as they normally would, and physical distancing was encouraged. Several shoppers said they were glad the market was able to open. “It’s progress. Things are opening up, I think everybody’s ready for that,” said shopper Karen Seghetti. Customers were not allowed to touch produce, instead, farmers picked out the fruits and vegetables for them to avoid spreading germs.
