Vaccine distribution begins at Fort Bragg

Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has begun on one of the largest military installations in the world. Health care workers at Fort Bragg's Womack Army Medical Center received the shot on Tuesday. (Dec. 16)

- Yesterday we received our first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine. We received 3,900 doses early in the morning and went through the thawing process and started vaccinating health care workers and Womack Army Medical Center.

Once we work through all of the health care providers that are in that first tier, then we'll move on to sort of enhanced readiness forces. And that will all be active duty service members. And I anticipate we'll be through the health care workers and vaccinating enhanced readiness forces by next week.

- To be able to work through the vaccine process and get out of the business of quarantine and isolation and personnel not being ready because they're in one of those states is hugely impactful on our mission capability.
