What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Softball, Big Brothers Big Sisters, National Honor Society and Sources of Strength, just to name a few.

What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good? I felt proud about participating in the Wisconsin Civics Games with a few of my teammates. It was a good learning experience, and my friends and I even designed shirts for our team!

Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? During one of my AP courses, we were working on rhetorical analysis and started watching documentaries. I found that I enjoy watching true crime documentaries because of the psychological questions I am left with.

What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Never be afraid to ask teachers for assistance because they are there to help you and want you to succeed.

What are your plans after high school? I plan on going to college out of state to pursue my bachelor’s degree in some sort of forensic science and psychology degree.

What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I would like to be working as a forensic psychologist in some kind of prison or rehabilitation center. I hope that by working with the inmates and patients I can help them become a better person.

Teacher recommendation: “Julia is the epitome of a dependable and scholarly leader. She is committed to her responsibilities, and her academic success is inspirational. In the classroom, Julia works hard, but has fun. She seeks out teachers outside of class for additional help when needed. Julia is taking several college preparatory classes while still maintaining a high GPA. She is the first to step up when a task needs to be accomplished and is a role model for her peers. Her leadership style is a perfect blend of reliability and scholarly excellence. Overall, I enjoy the time I spend with Julia, and I can’t wait to see where she goes in the future!” – Rachel Lensmire, mathematics teacher and National Honor Society adviser

Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? This is a hard question because I’ve had multiple classes that have influenced my decision regarding my career plan. Those classes are Veterinary Science and Biology I and II.

What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Make sure to do your best and to try new things, but still have fun while doing so.
