Valentine's Day hearts made by AI are weird as hell, CHERT FACE

In honor of the upcoming Hallmark holiday, research scientist Janelle Shane decided to let artificial intelligence write its own heartfelt candy heart messages. The results were pleasantly weird.

After collecting all the short love notes Shane could find, such as "LOVE YOU" or "CALL ME," she fed them into a neural network to see what it would create.

"Given a set of data, a neural network will learn the patterns that let it imitate the original data," Shane wrote on her site, noting, "although its imitation is sometimes imperfect."

While the neural network did produce some passable messages such as "DEAR ME" and "LOVE BUN," it also created some totally ridiculous and equally hilarious ones.

Shane broke the messages into a few categories.

Here are some of the passable ones:

Things quickly got weird.

Finally, SWEAT POO.

The neural network also generated the standout messages "CHERT FACE," "LOOK BIG," and my all-time favorite, "YOU ARE BAG"

The AI also generated a set of some very suggestive messages consisting of four letter words, but we'll let your imagination consider the possibilities.
