Valentine's Day in Spartanburg: 5 restaurants offering special menus to treat your sweetheart
February is a time for celebrating sweethearts so it's time to start thinking about Valentine's Day restaurant reservations.
With just over a week left until the holiday, restaurants are announcing menus for special meals for two and the deadlines for reservations, ticket sales, and pre-orders. And most of those deadlines for ticket sales and reservations are next week.
Whether you're looking for a fancy dinner out, a romantic night at home, or something in between, these Spartanburg County restaurants have you covered.
Blue Moon Bodega
Couples looking for a casual night out can head to the new Blue Moon Bodega (220 E. Daniel Morgan Ave.). The downtown grocery, cafe and wine bar is offering a three-course meal for two in the bodega’s covered and heated patio from 5-6:30 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
The set menu will include a spinach & beet salad, a charcuterie board, a pie flight with buttermilk, lemon chess, French silk, and pecan pies, and a bottle of wine.
Tickets are $74.99 for a table for two, available for purchase on Blue Moon's website.
The Tulip Tree
The Tulip Tree (121 W. Main St.) in downtown Spartanburg has a special Valentine’s Day dinner planned.
The menu includes a choice of entrees including individual servings of shrimp and grits, pan-seared red snapper, or chicken marsala (prices range from $23-$37) or a chateaubriand with rock lobster tail for two ($85). Entrees will be served with a Caesar salad and either espresso cheesecake or bourbon creme brûlée for dessert.

New Groove Artisan Brewery
Boiling Springs brewery’ New Groove (4078 SC Highway 9) is partnering with Aegir Supper Club to offer a special Valentine’s Day Beer Dinner from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Aegir Supper Club will provide a five-course tasting menu, paired with five seasonal New Groove beers. The menu will include a lemon ricotta and prosciutto crostini appetizer, a shaved fennel & persimmon salad, and “land and sea” entrees of butter-poached stone crab claw and a New York strip. The meal is topped off with a Mexican hot chocolate spiced cake for dessert. The event will also feature a pre-dinner cocktail hour, where guests can purchase any of the brewery's beers, starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite and are $75 during the pre-sale, which ends Feb. 13, and $85 on the day of the event.
Blue Moon Specialty Foods
If you and your sweetheart prefer a night in, Blue Moon Specialty Foods (130 S. Church St.) has an option for you to eat at home.
The restaurant is offering a customizable "Date Night In" meal kit for $69.99, which provides everything needed for a Valentine's Day meal for two. Meal kits include one of these three entrees: bacon-wrapped filet with chimichurri compound butter, basil and goat cheese-encrusted salmon, or seafood crepes. The meal kits also come with an antipasto salad, garlic bread, a choice of two sides and a dessert. For dessert, you can choose cheesecake, chocolate caramel tart or peanut butter pie.
The pre-order deadline for the meal kits is Tuesday, Feb. 7. Kits can be ordered on Blue Moon's website. Meal kits will be available for pick-up on Feb. 14 at the restaurant.
Rotties 221 Biergarten
For lovebirds wanting to celebrate over the weekend, Rotties 221 Biergarten (228 S. Main St., Woodruff) will host a Valentine’s Day Brunch from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Feb. 11.
The menu includes Nutella-filled crepes, heart-shaped French toast, breakfast enchiladas, Eggs Benedict casserole, bacon, sausage, along with chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry cream cheese pastries. Drinks are available for an additional charge.
Tickets are on sale for $20 through Feb. 9 and can be purchased at the restaurant or on Eventbrite.
