These are the Valley highways that will be closed over Cinco de Mayo weekend

The Arizona Department of Transportation released its latest round of closures and restrictions headed for Valley highways this weekend.

Notable closures will be seen along stretches of Interstate 10, 17, Loop 303 and the U.S. 60.

ADOT advised drivers to allow for extra time and plan alternate routes. Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge safely when venturing through work zones.

Westbound I-10 closed between Loop 202 and US 60

Details: Westbound I-10 will be closed between Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) and the U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) as part of the ongoing I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Wild Horse Pass Boulevard

  • All Loop 202 eastbound and eastbound on-ramps to westbound I-10

When: 10 p.m. Friday, May 5 to 4 a.m. Monday, May 8

Alternate Routes: ADOT suggests using eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in Chandler to northbound Loop 101 to reach either westbound U.S. 60 or westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to avoid the closure. Westbound and northbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) can be used to reach I-10 near 59th Avenue in west Phoenix.

Northbound I-17 closed between Northern Avenue and Greenway Road

Details: Northbound I-17 will be closed between Northern Avenue and Greenway Road for a pavement improvement project.

The following ramps and lanes will be closed:

  • Northbound I-17 on-ramps at Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue

  • Southbound I-17 HOV lane between Peoria and Dunlap Avenues for Valley Metro light rail construction

When: 9 p.m. Friday, May 5 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 8

Alternate Routes: Northbound SR 51 to westbound Loop 101 can be used as an alternate route. Northbound I-17 drivers can exit ahead of the closure and use northbound 19th or 35th avenues.

Westbound US 60 closed between Loop 202 and Greenfield Road

Details: Westbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) will be closed between Loop 202 (SuperRedTan Interchange) and Greenfield Road for pavement improvement and lane striping.

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Both Loop 202 ramps to westbound U.S. 60

  • Eastbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Ellsworth Road

When: 9 p.m. Friday, May 5 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 8

Alternate Routes: Motorists can use westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain or Santan freeways) as an alternate route. Drivers can exit prior to the closure and use westbound Baseline Road or Southern Avenue.

Westbound Loop 303 closed between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway

Details: Westbound Loop 303 will be closed between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway.

When: 8 p.m. Friday, May 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6

Eastbound Loop 303 closed between Lake Pleasant Parkway and I-17

Details: Eastbound Loop 303 will be closed between Lake Pleasant Parkway and I-17.

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 8

Alternate Routes: State Route 74 and Lake Pleasant Parkway can be used as alternate routes. ADOT says times may be subject to change.

I-10 narrowed to one lane between Watson Road and SR 85

Details: I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between Watson Road and SR 85 for a widening project. Expect ramp closures connecting I-10 and SR 85 at times over the weekend.

The I-10 on and off-ramps at Miller and Watson roads will be closed at times.

When: 10 p.m. Friday, May 5 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 8

Eastbound US 60 narrowed to two lanes between Greenfield and Power roads

Details: Eastbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to two lanes between Greenfield and Power roads for maintenance. On and off-ramp closures can be expected in the area.

When: 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 7

Detour: Power Road can be used to enter eastbound US 60

ADOT advised drivers to allow for extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when moving through work zones.
