Valley all-school alumni reunion returns. Here’s the details!
LONDON MILLS — After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic restrictions, all graduates from Valley High School and their spouses or guests are invited to attend the all-school alumni reunion at the high school Friday, Sept. 16.

According to reunion coordinator Larry Huffman, the annual all-school event had previously been held on the third Friday evening in September, but limitations imposed during the pandemic lockdown prevented the event from being held the past two years. “Alumni I have talked with are looking forward to being able to get together again, so we are hoping for a great turnout,” said Huffman.
The Sept. 16 event will be held in the Hendry S. Bennett gym at Valley High School, located near the junction of Illinois Routes 97 and 116, starting at 6 p.m. A light meal will be provided at a cost of $5 per person.

To determine the number of meals that will be needed, alumni who plan to attend this event are requested to register in advance by mailing their checks, $5, per person, payable to “Valley H.S. Alumni,” along with their year of graduation, to Lisa Quick, P.O. Box 192, Fairview, IL 61432, no later than Aug. 26.

“At this year’s reunion, we will recognize and thank all military veterans in attendance, as well as especially remember the only two Valley alumni who have been killed during combat, Leonard Allen Morse (Vietnam, 1969) and Douglas J. Riney (Afghanistan, 2016),” said Huffman.
