Valley to Summit: UND posts men's basketball assistant job

The UND men's basketball program posted a job opening Monday for a new men's basketball assistant coach.
Although the university hasn't announced anything publicly or removed any coaches from its website, the new job opening is to fill the spot of Danijel Mihailovic, according to a source.
Mihailovic, originally from Serbia, was with UND since 2018.
Mihailovic led UND's international recruiting efforts, which started under former head coach Brian Jones.
UND's top international recruit in Mihailovic's tenure was Filip Rebraca, a fellow Serbian, who entered the transfer portal this offseason.
The posting says the position will pay $51,000 to $56,400 per year.
Under preferred qualifications, the job posting says UND is looking for experience at the Division I level, experience in the Summit League as a player or coach and experience with college recruiting in the upper Midwest.
UND's current men's basketball staff includes head coach Paul Sather, assistants Jamie Stevens and Zach Horstman and director of basketball operations Nate Kaeding.
Sims picks NKU
One of UND's departed men's basketball players has made his next destination known.
Seybian Sims has announced he's headed to Northern Kentucky, a member of the Horizon League.
Northern Kentucky made the Division II to Division I move about the same time as UND after successful DII days, where the Norse were national runner-up finishers in the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons.
Northern Kentucky was 14-11 last season.
Sims, a 6-foot-7 junior from Kirkwood Community College, averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds for UND last season, starting in 24 of UND's 25 games.

— In a previous Valley to Summit, it was mentioned that former UND running backs coach Kevin Maurice has left Eastern Washington for an FBS job. Since then, it has been announced Maurice will join New Mexico State to coach tight ends.
— The Summit League's defensive player of the year in men's basketball, Kansas City's Brandon McKissic, has made his transfer decision. McKissic, a 6-3 guard, will spend his final season with the Florida Gators. He averaged 17.2 points per game last season, along with 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
— South Dakota starting running back Kai Henry has entered the transfer portal. Henry ran for 2,128 yards and 24 touchdowns in 38 career games. Henry is a 5-8, 210-pound Florida native.
— The new staff for Denver men's basketball, led by former Stanford associate head coach Jeff Wulbrun, has started making some impressive moves. The Pios added former Morehead State guard Kevin Hunt Jr., who averaged 6.9 points and 3.1 assists last year. They added Portland transfer Mikey Henn, who averaged 7.8 points per game last year and is a career 34 percent 3-point shooter. Denver also received a commitment from Coban Porter, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter, Jr. Coban had previously signed with Stephen F. Austin.
— Illinois State transfer defensive back Charles Woods committed to West Virginia. The Redbirds also had a key defensive lineman enter the transfer portal in 6-6, 325-pound John Ridgeway, who was all-conference honorable mention in 2019.
— St. Thomas, a future member of the Summit League, picked up its first big men's basketball recruit. Jarvis Omersa will transfer from Minnesota. The 6-foot-8 power forward opted out of his junior season in December.
— Wichita State transfer Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler will join the Omaha men's basketball program in 2021-22. The 6-foot-9, 250-pound Omaha native played in 72 games at Wichita State, averaging 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
