Valley Voice poem: 'Sestina of Night Swimming in Palm Springs'

Beneath the silent palms at night I swim,in Palm Springs, where the heavens meet the earth,as Coachella Valley’s night skies unfoldthe Milky Way, a cosmic tapestry.A desert breeze blows softly through this place, the water's touch evokes a tender grace.

In moonlit pools, I find a soft embrace, while swaying palms bear witness to my swim;their rustling leaves weave stories in this place.Star-spangled skies illuminate the earth. While pondering life’s deepest tapestry,I listen to the secrets that unfold.

A symphony of desert winds unfold,to whisper melodies of ancient grace;I'm but a thread within this tapestry, submerged in splashing rhythms of my swim —connected to the pulsing heart of Earth —in Palm Springs, nature's tranquil dwelling place.

The midnight sky, a vast and boundless place, reveals its mysteries; stories unfold.I gaze upon the cosmos and the earth, transfixed by beauty, humbled by its grace,as I surrender to the gentle swim, immersed in nature's grandest tapestry.

The naked night reveals it’s tapestryof interwoven threads of time and place.Within these depths, I lose myself to swim, and fully fathom all that will unfold;in this communion I find inner grace,an echo of the universe and Earth.

Our valley is a cradle on this earth,a sanctuary rich with tapestry, where one can find a sense of sacred grace, and be in harmony with time and place;in silent depths nocturnal thoughts unfold,as I immerse myself in soothing swim.

Like palms, I am connected to this place,a strand within what tapestries unfold, reflected in the stars and a night swim.
