‘He valued compassion’: Daughter shares memory of Huntersville man after random shooting

Michael Feldman’s daughters say they’re doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Feldman was killed in a shooting in Huntersville earlier this month, and while one suspect is in custody, Feldman’s family members say they still have many questions.

Monday, they spoke with Channel 9′s Crime Reporter Hunter Sáenz, saying they’re choosing to look past what happened and instead focus on remembering a man who was kind and lived his life to the fullest.

“He was a very good, kind person and he valued compassion and seeing the best in people,” said Morgan Feldman.

Morgan and April are still grieving the loss of their father. They believe he was randomly shot to death at a Huntersville apartment complex just one week ago.

“The hardest thing is just thinking that he’s not here ... our whole life we’ve always had him,” she told Sáenz.

Their pain is comforted by their loving memories spent with the man who loved Spiderman and enjoyed the outdoors. They say Feldman was a problem solver with boisterous energy, and he was always there to support those he knew and those he didn’t.

“He was the first person I’d call if something good happened in my life or something bad,” said April Feldman. “So it’s hard just knowing that won’t be there in the future.”

“He was just so fun, fun and goofy are the first words that come to mind.”

Feldman had founded two businesses, including T1V, a software company where he worked with Morgan. Earlier this year, she got married with her father by her side.

“I am so glad he was there for the wedding day. That was the last day I think we were all together as a family,” she said.

Feldman’s two daughters still have many questions about why he was killed, but they’re choosing to honor him through their actions.

“He would just want everyone to just live their lives to the fullest that they can,” his daughter said.

Feldman’s funeral was on Friday, and his daughters said so many people attended that an overflow room was packed beyond capacity.

They say they didn’t truly know just how many lives he impacted until now.

Police officers arrested Randy Gonzales-Mugaburu for first-degree murder in Feldman’s death. He remains in custody.
