Vandenburg wins Leprechaun 10K
Mar. 27—LENOIR — Kenny West of Butler (Tenn.) won the Leprechaun Leap 10-kilometer race on March 18.
His winning time was 39:50.8. Lenoir's Brice Pittman crossed runner-up (44:23.3).
The women's winner was Banner Elk's Heidi Hinnershitz (44:51.2), with Lenoir's Allison Sharp in second (45:50.6).
Andrew Vandenburg won the 5K race (16:54.0). Granite Falls' Levi Bowman crossed second (18:06.6).
The women's 5K winner was Wilkesboro's Ariana Redes (21.:36.3), with Boone's Kathleen Mansure runner-up (24:13.4).
Travis Rawls of Lenior was the men's 30-34 10K winner (53:49). Lenoir's Daniel McGee won the men's 40-44 division (52:06.3).
Lenoir's Alex Martin won 45-49 (48:44.8). The 50-54 winner was Charles Senne of Raleigh (1:01.33.3)
The women's 25-29 class was taken by Mooresville's Kiley Sosby (1:13.26.8). The 30-34 went to Marion's Melanie Rodriguez (57:50.6).
Lenoir's Amy Goble won 35-39 (56:01.2). Conover's Marisa Thomas won 40-44 (1:10.49.5), while Susan Cato-Chapman of Morganton took 1:06.53.5) and Morganton's Amy Brooks was tops in 55-50 (58:47.7).
In the 5K; E. Seabolt of Hickory won boys' 10-under (24:39.5), Hickory's Felix Urruty took 11-14 ( (22:23.0) and Shelby's Colt Goodrum was tops in 15-19 (23:35.9).
Trevor Wooten of Statesville won men's 20-24 (23:11.9), Hickory's Landon Scott took 25-29 (19:56.7), 30-34 went to Jefferson's James Parsons (20:25.7), Maiden's Jare Gustin won 35-39 (24:43.0), Hickory's Nathan McClure won 40-44 (27:43.9), Brad Bowman was tops in 45-49 (24:01.1), Apex's Peter Lieffrtig won 50-54 (27:33.9), Greg Kirby of Lenoir took 55-59 (42:28.6) and the 70-74 winner was Lenoir's Tommy Dunn (32:36.5).
On the female side: W. Seabolt of Hickory won 10-under (31:53.6), R. Ring of Hickory took 11-14(27:28.9) and Shelby's Meredith Hunt won 15-19 (34:13.6).
Lenoir's Meagan Hensley won 20-24 (34:24.1), Maiden's Bethany Brittain won 25-29 (29:12.6), Leisha Bicker of Castle Rock (Colo.) won 30-34 (27:17.1), Granite Falls' Christina Chandler took 35-39 (26:02.9), Hickory's Leigh Ring won 40-44 (30:46.0), Lenoir's Maggie Martin took 45-49 (28:50.5), Statesville's Rhonda Wooten won 50-54 (29:51.1), Lori Church of Volas won 55-59 (31:24.3), Statesville's Nancy Anderson won 60-54 (26:47.4) and 65-69 went to Wilkesboro's Lesa Cheek (36:52.6).
