Vanderbilt baseball matchup with Lipscomb canceled due to weather

Vanderbilt baseball's Tuesday matchup with Lipscomb at First Horizon Park was canceled due to weather and will not be made up.

According to the Nashville Sounds, fans who purchased tickets will not receive refunds but they may exchange them for general admission tickets for a Sounds home game during the 2023 season.

The game was called off after the top of the third inning. Neither team had scored a run. Before the game was called, Commodores starter Greysen Carter recorded three scoreless innings with one walk and two strikeouts and the Vanderbilt batters, while not recording a hit, had walked three times and been hit by a pitch twice in two innings against former Vanderbilt pitcher Ethan Smith. However, none of those stats will count as the game was canceled prior to completing five innings.

This is the first weather-related cancellation for the Commodores (16-5) this season. They will face Mississippi State this weekend for the second series of the conference season after sweeping Ole Miss opening weekend.
