Vanderbilt basketball score vs. Kentucky in SEC Tournament quarterfinals: Live updates

Vanderbilt basketball has a singular goal the the SEC Tournament: Win the whole thing.

Bracketologists have not been impressed enough with the Commodores' resume to put them in the projected field, but Vanderbilt still has the opportunity to take matters into its own hands by winning the automatic bid. That continues Friday against Kentucky in the final quarterfinal matchup at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville (approximately 8:30 p.m. CT, SEC Network).

The Commodores (19-13) beat the Wildcats at Rupp Arena just over a week ago. Kentucky (21-10) won the first matchup between the two teams in January at Memorial Gymnasium .

Star Wildcats big man Oscar Tshiebwe has been a handful in both games. The X factor on Friday is whether Vanderbilt can slow down everyone else enough to have a chance without Liam Robbins.

In Thursday's win over LSU, guard play was the catalyst as Tyrin Lawrence, Jordan Wright, Ezra Manjon and Paul Lewis all scored in double digits.
