Vanderbilt football score vs. Wake Forest: Live updates as Clark Lea seeks marquee win

Vanderbilt football plays arguably its biggest game in years on Saturday against No. 21 Wake Forest. The Commodores (2-0) could start 3-0 for the first time since 2017 with SEC Nation in town and Jordan Rodgers in tow.

The Demon Deacons (1-0) will see the return of quarterback Sam Hartman, who missed the first game because of a condition that caused blood clots.

A.J. Swann took over for Mike Wright and completed his first career touchdown pass to wide receiver Will Shepard. Swann also got the two-point conversion to cut the Demon Deacons deficit 35-18.

Vandy capitalized on the muffed punt and Re'Mahn Davis runs it in for the Commodores' first score.

11:55 a.m.: Vanderbilt recovers muffed punt

Despite giving up a pick-six with a touchdown, Vandy special teams recovered a muffed punt and entered the red zone.

Vanderbilt gets a big stop from the 1 and hold Wake Forest scoreless.
