Vanderbilt students to appear on JEOPARDY! High School Reunion Tournament
Two Vanderbilt University juniors will compete during a special JEOPARDY! tournament later this month, the show announced.
"Four seasons ago, JEOPARDY! had so many excellent teen contestants that the show hosted two Teen Tournaments," a news release from the show said. "Now, those bright young minds are older, wiser and ready to return to the stage for a first-of-its kind twist on the traditional College Championship format."
The show's first-ever High School Reunion tournament will feature Vanderbilt student Rohit Kataria on Feb. 20, followed by classmate Jackson Jones on Feb. 24. Kataria is a native of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and is studying public policy, according to the release. Jones, who is from Louisville, Kentucky, is majoring in chemistry and economics.
The 14-day special will run from Feb. 20 through March 9. Mayim Bialik, known for her starring role in 1990s NBC sitcom Blossom and her later role on CBS sitcom Big Bang Theory, will host.
The tournament will start with quarterfinal matchups and is set to include 27 former teen contestants vying for a $100,000 grand prize — along with a coveted spot in the Tournament of Champions.
