Vanderbilt vs. New Mexico State baseball Corvallis Regional game delayed due to rain

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Vanderbilt baseball's Saturday game against New Mexico State has entered a rain delay.

The elimination game was scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT but was unable to start on time. The two teams warmed up on the field pregame amid heavy rain. The game is set to begin at 3:20 p.m. CT.

Chris McElvain is set to start the game for Vanderbilt. Just two pitchers pitched in the Commodores' loss to San Diego, leaving likely all relief pitchers besides Christian Little available. Pablo Cortes is the scheduled starter for the Aggies.

The second game Saturday between Oregon State and San Diego is set to begin at 9 p.m. CT. The winner between Vanderbilt and New Mexico State will face the loser of that game, currently scheduled for Sunday.

The forecast for Corvallis shows at least a 40% chance of rain for the remainder of the day.
