"The best things come in threes," Rosario Dawson wrote on Instagram alongside the announcement of her collaboration with Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson on a new, ready-made margarita.

The surprising trio’s friendship actually "goes pretty deep," Hudgens told AOL.

Before co-starring in the 2010 hit "Spring Breakers," Hudgens and Benson met in acting class when they were just 15-years-old and “have just continued to interweave in each other's lives all these years,” Hudgens said. Dawson and Hudgens also worked together previously, playing a mother and daughter in the 2013 indie film "Gimme Shelter."

"My friends are my everything. They are my grounding team," Hudgens said of the importance of female friendship in her life. "These women are women I admire so deeply because of their work and how they present themselves to the world but also just who they are as women in general. These are such incredible people and I’m just so grateful to be able to go on this journey with them."

Teaming up to create the Margalicious Margarita, a partnership with female-led brand Thomas Ashbourne Craft Spirits “really suits our personalities,” said Dawson, who came up with the name.

"It’s fun to work with people that you love," the actress continued. "I think a margarita automatically spells a good time and fun and lightness. It makes you think of community. It’s something you tend to drink as a group so it makes a lot of sense that we’re doing it as a group."

Although there are many celebrity-backed cocktails, the three actresses said their friendship and collaboration sets theirs apart. Throughout the process of perfecting the margarita, the trio had "a really good time."

"I think that's so special and something is really important to share with folks," Dawson said. "As we have been so isolated and cut off from each other to really represent what that means to come back together again and be able to just really enjoy each other and make that quality time and memories together."

The new ready-to-drink cocktail is "full of freshly squeezed limes, pure sea salt and hints of orange zest with a premium tequila and triple sec liqueur base," according to Thomas Ashbourne.

"We’ve done so many taste tests and we’ve perfected it down just to the right amount of everything. It’s literally the best-tasting margarita without being too sweet or too sour," Benson told AOL.

The extra bonus, Benson added, is that "it's also 40 proof and will get you feeling buzzed quite quickly."
