Vanessa Hudgens engaged to baseball player Cole Tucker
Vanessa Hudgens is engaged to pro baseball player Cole Tucker, according to multiple reports.
Tucker, 26, popped the question in late 2022, TMZ reported.
Though Hudgens and Tucker both frequently share snaps on Instagram, neither announced the news publicly. Hudgens shared multiple photos of the two together for the holidays, including a Dec. 29 picture captioned, “Merry af.”
“I’ll stop the world and melt with you,” she wrote in another post last week.
The “High School Musical” star, 34, started dating Tucker in 2020, and they were first spotted together in November of that year. The couple met through a Zoom meditation session, and Hudgens later told Drew Barrymore that she didn’t stick to the status quo and made the first move.
“I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” she said in May 2021. “I found him, and we started talking.”
When the two first started dating, Tucker was a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates and a former top prospect. However, Tucker was a subpar hitter in the majors, and the Pirates released him in June 2022. He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks, but spent the rest of the season with their AAA affiliate in Reno, Nev.
In December, Tucker signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies.
Previously, Hudgens dated actor Austin Butler for eight years before they broke up in January 2020.
