Varney: Prince Charles will lose if he shoves climate change down our throats
News coming out of Britain’s royal family has not been uplifting, FOX Business’ Stuart Varney argued in his latest “My Take.”
First, it was Prince Andrew, then Harry and Meghan, now Prince Charles has thrown the crown into the climate debate with talk like that of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Varney said.

“Charles is a long-time climate warrior. Ten years ago when we first went on the air, he was predicting climate doom within 18 months,” he said.
The prince is at it again, despite his getting the time frame wildly wrong, this time calling for a “wholesale revolution,” according to Varney. Charles told CNN in Davos “we can’t go on like this,” he added.

“It’s another major league scare. What does he want? A revolution in the way the global economy and financial markets work? He does not spell out the exact nature of this revolution, but I’ll guarantee he’s using the climate scare to take control of private capital,” Varney said.
In talking like AOC and Sanders, the future king is alluding to a change in the global economy and financial markets, according to Varney. He added that the climate scare is a Trojan horse for socialism.

“This is the last thing the royals should be doing. For a couple of centuries, the rule has been simple: royals stay out of politics. You may be the friend of popular opinion today, but you’ll be the enemy tomorrow when opinion changes,” Varney said.
Varney noted that he is not arguing one side or the other of the climate debate. He argued only that these scare tactics do not work.
“Voters won’t sacrifice now for a green paradise later. Revolution is not in the air and politicians and princes who try to stick it down our throats will lose,” Varney concluded.
