Men’s soccer

Massasoit CC 2, SUNY Ulster 1 (Oct. 30): The Senators dropped the district final in overtime.

No. 5 Yeshiva 4, No. 4 Mount Saint Mary 3 (Oct 30): Host Mount Saint Mary could not hold a 2-1 lead in this Skyline Conference quarterfinal. Yeshiva scored three in a row, including a second goal by Lucas Baredes with under 14 minutes to play. Peter Ramirez scored in the 85th minute but that's as close the Knights (8-6-4) would get. Christopher Maggie (28th minute) and Matt Wyant (38th) scored the other Mount goals. Caesar Martinez made two stops for the Knights.

No. 6 Plattsburgh 3, No. 3 New Paltz 2 (Oct. 29): Visiting Plattsburgh (8-7-3) seized a 3-0 lead inside the opening 39 minutes of this SUNY Athletic Conference quarterfinal. Joseph DiPreta tallied in the 55th and 86th minutes for the Hawks (9-5-3). New Paltz’s Tim Kane had a shot saved by Plattsburgh keeper Teddy Healy only 25 seconds after DiPetra’s penalty kick. Four ensuing shots went wide.

SUNY Ulster 5, Lackawanna 1 (Oct. 29): Javi Rodriguez of Newburgh scored three goals to lift the Senators to the NJCAA Div. II Sub-District semifinal win. Frank Rodriguez of Newburgh and Modou Badjie of Kingston also scored. Ulster faces No. 1 seed Massasoit at 11 a.m. Sunday in district final.

Women’s soccer

No. 3 Niagara 3, No. 6 Marist 1 (Oct. 30): Host Niagara scored three first-half goals in the Metro Atlantic quarterfinal. Amanda Caldarelli scored in the 72 nd minute for Marist (5-7-5). Natalie Kelchner made five stops for the Red Foxes.

No. 3 New Paltz 5, No. 6 Brockport 2 (Oct. 29): Brooke Kelleher staked host SUNY New Paltz to a 2-0 lead inside the opening 21 minutes of the SUNY Athletic Conference quarterfinal. Kelly Licata (40th minute), Rachel Eisert (47th) and Dana Salinas (51st) also tallied for the Hawks. Maddie Franklin made four stops. New Paltz (11-3-2) will face No. 1 SUNY Geneseo in the semifinals on Nov. 3 – it will be the Hawks’ first November playoff game since 2011.

No. 3 Farmingdale State 3, No. 6 Mount Saint Mary 2 (Oct. 29): Visiting Mount Saint Mary rallied to tie the Skyline Conference quarterfinal match in each half but gave up the winning goal with 2:33 left in regulation. Kaitlin Hansen (20th minute) and Maggie Zecca (60th) scored for the Mount (6-11-3). Caroline Brucato made five stops in the loss.

Monroe-Bronx 3, SUNY Orange 0 (Oct. 20): The visiting Colts (6-13) dropped a Region XV Div. III quarterfinal 25-15, 25-21, 25-18. Amber Carlton had four kills and right digs, Ashleigh Convery had three kills and four digs and Maggie Goodenough had 23 digs.

Delaware Tech 3, Ulster 2 (Oct. 29): The visiting Senators (10-4) bowed in the Region XIX finals.

Dutchess 3, Ulster 1 (Oct. 18): The Senators bowed 24-26, 25-5, 25-23, 25-13 in the Mid-Hudson Conference finals. Francheska Genimiano had 11 kills, Hannah Ortman had five kills and 19 digs, Angela Mayer had nine kills and 10 digs and Esvetlana Mullins had two kills, 25 assists and 20 digs.

Ulster 3, Westchester 1 (Oct. 18): The Senators posted a 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-9 victory in the Mid-Hudson Conference semifinals. Francheska Geminiano had 16 kills and four digs, Angela Mayer had 12 kills and 12 digs and Esvetlana Mullins had 28 assists, six kills and 20 digs.

Women’s field hockey

No. 4 New Paltz at No. 1 Geneseo, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 4 p.m., SUNY Athletic Conference semifinal

Men’s cross country

Army at Patriot League meet (Oct. 29): At Bucknell, senior Garrett Gough won his first league title (24:27 over 8,050 meters) by eight seconds and earned his third all-league honor. Black Knights (50 points) finished second to Navy (32), despite all-league finishes by Matthew Porter (fifth), Luke Lusskin (tenth) and Isaac Morris (12th).

Marist at Metro Atlantic meet (Oct. 29): At Colonie, Red Foxes placed third with 96 points. Ramsey Little placed ninth (24:30 over 8,000 meters). Also scoring for the Red Foxes were Christopher Paxis (15th), Gabe Rodriguez (21st), Daniel Czop (24th) and Kieran Donnelly (27th).

New Paltz at SUNYAC meet (Oct. 29): At Oswego, Hawks place seventh of ten teams. Top finishers were Hans Hilson-Schneider (33rd, 28:10 over 8,000 meters), Brian Casey (43rd), Brian Larosa (45th), Gavin Bowers (47th) and Vincent Mandraccia (48th).

Locals at SUNYAC meet (Oct. 29): At Oswego, 24. Michael Brockway (Plattsburgh, Washingtonville grad); 25. Harry Tomasi (Cortland, Port Jervis grad); 39. Joe Ayala (Oneonta, New Paltz grad)

Mount Saint Mary at Skyline Conference meet (Oct. 23): The Knights placed ninth (with 249 points) out of 11 full teams at Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton. Greg Casale placed 49th (33:10 over 4.97 miles). Christopher Pangione (55th), Christopher Christiano (68th), Michael Gillespie (85th) and Ramasoj Williams (87th) also scored for the Knights.

Women’s cross country

Army at Patriot League meet (Oct. 29): At Bucknell, Black Knights place second (57 points) to Navy (38). All-league honors earned by rookie of the meet Charlotte Richman (third place, 20:43 over 6,000 meters), Georgia Jones (fifth) and Joanna Halfhill (sixth).

Marist at Metro Atlantic meet (Oct. 29): At Colonie, the Red Foxes placed fourth with 131 points. Samantha Kehler led with a 15th-place finish (22:19 over 6,000 meters). Also scoring were Hannah Belleville (20th), Parker O'Brien (23rd), Adele Alexander (35th) and Sierra Fisher (38th).

Locals at MAAC meet (Oct. 29): 51. Evelyn Gonzalez-Valle (Manhattan, Monroe-Woodbury grad)

New Paltz at SUNYAC meet (Oct. 29): At Oswego, Hawks place fifth of eight full teams. Senior Kate Cochran placed third (22:52 over 6,000 meters) for first-team all-league honors. Other scorers were New Paltz grad Lillian Stephenson (27th), Mikayla Cecora (33rd), Katherine Manzueta (34th) and Monroe-Woodbury grad Allison English (36th).

Locals at SUNYAC meet (Oct. 29): At Oswego, 13. Ella DePhillips (Oneota, Monroe-Woodbury grad); 38. Natalie Castro (Plattsburgh, Washingtonville grad); 44. Andie Carroll (Plattsburgh, New Paltz grad)

Mount Saint Mary at Skyline Conference meet (Oct. 23): The Knights place fifth (with 144 points) out of 11 full teams at Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton. Lily O’Brien (29:53 over 3.73 miles) and Sara Kennenberg placed 17-18 to lead the Mount. Priya Patel (24th), Warwick grad Lauren Desrats (32nd) and Alyssa Millburn (57th) also scored.
