VB courthouse temporarily evacuated due to elevator issue

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Courthouse was temporarily evacuated Tuesday afternoon while fire crews responded a smoke call.

According to the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, a generator set for the mail public elevator was arcing and sparking.

Elevators are closed for repairs while maintenance crews and contractors work to resolve the issue.
