VB tops list for Airbnb hosts

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach is one of the best cities to be an Airbnb host.

Short-term rentals, long-term issues for property owners

That’s according to Wealth of Geeks, which ranked it number eight in the country for profitability, behind cities like Las Vegas, Phoenix and Charleston, S.C.

They ranked the locales based on the average cost paid for a rental coupled with the average weekly wage in that city.

Scottsdale, Arizona took the number one spot with an average cost-per-night of $449 and weekly salary of $804.

Virginia Beach saw an average cost-per-night of $332 with an average weekly salary of $857.
