Fire at Mini U Storage near Lynnhaven Mall

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Fire Department is investigating a fire at a Mini U Storage.

Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Lynnhaven Parkway around 11:42 a.m. They arrived on the scene about four minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from multiple storage units.

Crews doused the fire with water and had it under control around 12:13 p.m. Officials said the fire was marked out just before 2 p.m.

The fire spread to more than 30 units and caused a range of damages, officials said.

Officials said the fire started in one of the storage units, but the cause remains under investigation.

No one was hurt in the fire.
