Vehicle crash in Wilbarger County claims life of Altus man
A two-vehicle crash killed a man from Altus, Oklahoma, Sept. 5 just outside of Harrold, Texas.
According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Thomas Reese McAlpine, 34, of Altus, was driving a Dodge Ram truck southeast on U.S. 287 in Wilbarger County about two miles west of Harrold.
The DPS report states McAlpine's truck failed to maintain speed and struck the back of a trailer being hauled by a GMC Sierra truck. The GMC was also traveling southeast.
McAlpine died on scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
There were three individuals in the second vehicle, all from Electra. They were uninjured.
