Vehicle crashes into McKees Rocks business

A vehicle crashed into a building in the 100 block of Chartiers Avenue in McKees Rocks overnight.

The crash occurred after 2 a.m.

Channel 11 spoke with an eyewitness who said a car was traveling on West Carson Street, turned into a parking lot and was speeding when it crashed into the shopping plaza.

The damage to the former Subway shop at the corner of the McKees Rocks Plaza is extensive.

Windows are bent in, the glass is shattered and bricks are scattered on the ground.

An eyewitness shared pictures with Channel 11, showing a Mercedes on its side after it slammed into the building.

Police confirm the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed.

We’ve learned a new tenant — a pizza shop — was set to move in this week.

Work crews told Channel 11 the building appears to be structurally sound.

Officials tell Channel 11 no one was hurt.
