Vehicle crashes into tree, injuring five juveniles in Redwood County

Apr. 6—MORTON — Five juveniles were injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon near Morton.

The accident was reported at 4:53 p.m. Monday on Redwood County Road 2, near Oxford Avenue, within the Lower Sioux Indian Community.

According to an accident report from the Redwood County Sheriff's Office, a 2007 Chrysler 300, driven by Everette Myron Gene Kamolz, 16, was traveling over the posted speed limit, lost control, swerved into the ditch and crashed into a tree. The report did not indicate the hometown of the driver.

The driver and four juvenile passengers were transported by ambulance to Carris Health — Redwood Falls Hospital with minor injuries. The names, ages and hometowns of the passengers were not available in the report.

The Redwood County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Centra Care Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
