Vehicle crashes into UPS store on Bloomington's east side

A woman driving a 2014 Honda van crashed into the front of The UPS Store on College Mall Road late Friday morning. No one was hurt, but the storefront was destroyed .

The accident happened just before noon. According to information from Bloomington Police Department Lt. Lucas Tate, the 58-year-old driver said that as she pulled up to the front of the building, "her vehicle accelerated and when she applied the brake she could not stop."

The van was towed from the scene. Tate said there was no suspicion of driver impairment.

The business is at 885 S. College Mall Road in The Shoppes, near Jackson Creek shopping center. The onsite manager said the site will be closed until repairs can be made.
