Venetian Islands mansion mimics style of luxury resort

Casa Aman, an 8,520-square-foot, recently completed mansion in the prestigious Venetian Islands, was built by an entrepreneur to replicate the style and ambiance of Aman Resorts, the owner’s favorite luxury hotel brand. The home is now on the market for $14.995 million.

Michael Horvitz, who owns the property, wanted to create a home that embodies the same feeling of serenity represented by the worldwide resort collection, known for its organic, minimalist and understated designs.

“It really does feel like a Zen, organic beach home,” said Darin Tansey, an executive director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Miami Beach, who holds the listing.

The two-story “modern organic” mansion, which sits on a quarter-acre waterfront lot at 45 E. Dilido Drive in Miami Beach, has five bedrooms, six baths and a panoramic rooftop deck complete with a lounge and putting green.

Additional features include a waterfall entry, oak wood flooring, limestone bathrooms, balconies and patios, an elevator, Circadian lighting, custom closets and a kitchen with Miele and Wolf appliances and an island with seating for eight.

Outside, there’s an infinity pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen and a concrete dock, as well as 60 linear feet of water frontage on Biscayne Bay, offering views of Miami Beach.

The Venetian Islands are a chain of six man-made islands in Biscayne Bay that bridge Miami and Miami Beach.

“The Venetians are a special place,” Tansey said. “You have some of the best views in town and the ability to get on your bike or go for a jog and get to Miami Beach, or hop in a car for a short ride to Brickell, Wynwood or the Design District.”

Horvitz purchased the property in July 2016 for $4.875 million and built the custom gated home with the intention of occupying it himself, but his plans changed.

“He never had the intention to sell this house,” Tansey said. “This was a vision he had over many years of traveling all throughout the world to different beach villas and Aman resorts, which have been his and his girlfriend’s favorite for quite some time.”
