VENICE — The Venice Bealls store on Tamiami Trail reopened on Friday, Aug. 4 after a 10-month shutdown caused by damage from Hurricane Ian last September.

The store's grand reopening included customer prize giveaways, a ribbon cutting, and gift cards to the first 100 customers who visited the store at 4251 Tamiami Trail during the full-day celebration that began at 8:45 a.m.

Bealls President Tianne Doyle visited the grand reopening in Venice to celebrate the newly designed store, which has been in its current location since October 2001. Bealls has been in Venice since 1962.

“We have incredibly loyal customers here in Venice who have been patiently awaiting this grand re-opening and will be blown away when they see the new look and our expanded offerings,” District Manager Joanne Miller said in a press release. “We wanted to continue delivering the best year-round life in the sun assortment while adding a bit more of a mass merchant feel where our guests can also get great beauty products, kitchen gadgets, bedding, bath, and home décor and updated looks for young moms and kids.”

The first 100 guests on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 will also receive free gift cards.

In case you missed it: Bealls Outlet and Burkes Outlet, both based in Bradenton, merged to form brand

Bealls Inc. has been based in Bradenton for over 100 years. It announced in March that it was rebranding its 68 Bealls stores to Bealls Florida to align with the chain’s Florida “Live.Life.Local” assortment. The company’s 570 Burkes Outlet and Bealls Outlet stores in 23 states are being renamed bealls. In total, 250 Florida stores will be rebranded before the end of 2023. The smaller bealls stores, formerly outlets, serve customers who enjoy a treasure hunt or rotating variety of items at a lower cost, similar to its larger national competitors TJ Maxx or Marshalls, the company said.
