Venice plans 'Parade of Champions' for high school athletes on March 25

VENICE – Venice High School and the city of Venice will host a “Parade of Champions” at 11:30 a.m., March 25, in downtown Venice, to celebrate the Venice High volleyball team’s 2023 Class 7A State Championship, along with two Venice High School students who captured state swimming titles – Maeve Eckerman and Amadeusz Knop.

The parade will step off at Venice High and travel west on Milan Avenue, north on Nokomis Avenue, west on Venice Avenue, and north on Nassau Street to the gazebo in Centennial Park.

The parade will include Venice Fire and Police vehicles. School officials and city dignitaries will speak at a program to follow in the park.
