Comment: The 5-foot-11 senior helped the Cougars win three Pacific View League games last week to take sole possession of first place. On Tuesday, she had 11 points in a 66-26 win over Rio Mesa. She finished with 22 points and seven rebounds in a 66-43 victory over Pacifica on Thursday. In a showdown for first place on Saturday, Phillips had 15 points and eight rebounds in a 52-48 win over Oxnard. Ventura is 14-6 overall and 5-0 in league.
CALEB CHIN
School: Thousand Oaks
Year: Senior
Sport: Basketball
Comment: The 6-foot-5 center led Thousand Oaks to three Marmonte League victories last week as the first-place Lancers improved to 14-3 overall and 4-0 in league. On Tuesday, Chin had 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a 74-53 win over Newbury Park. On Wednesday, he finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in a 66-46 win over Westlake. On Friday, Chin had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a 59-36 victory over Oaks Christian.
