Three and a half years after its COVID-related closure, the Venus de Milo will be opening its doors again this fall.

Thanks to her superb golf game, the 9-year-old Somerset resident has been selected by Foresight Sports to play three dream rounds of golf at three California Monterrey Peninsula golf courses, including the world famous Pebble Peach.

She'll be one of only four youths (two girls, two boys) participating in the Legends Invitational, a Navy SEAL fundraising event.

Inspiring Black light bulb inventor finally gets headstone and recognition in Fall River

After 95 years, there is now a headstone for Black inventor Lewis Latimer at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Latimer, born in 1848 in Chelsea to parents who escaped enslavement in Virginia, was an extraordinary inventor, draftsman, writer and artist, working alongside the likes of Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Alva Edison.

In addition to his work on the light bulb, he was known for innovating an early form of air conditioning.

His memorial was unveiled with a special ceremony at Oak Grove.
