Verbal altercation leads to suspected stabbing in Victorville

A man was arrested and is being held on $1 million bail after he was suspected of stabbing another man during a verbal altercation in Victorville.

Sean Christopher Wheeler, 28, of Victorville on Friday remained at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto. He is scheduled to appear on Monday in Victorville Superior Court, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s booking records show.

The Victorville Sheriff’s Station reported that at 6:16 p.m. on Thursday, deputies were dispatched to a stabbing in the 16000 block of Nisqualli Road.

Upon arrival, deputies located a man with a stab wound.  The victim reported that after a verbal altercation, Wheeler stabbed him with a knife and then fled the scene in a vehicle, sheriff’s officials said.

The stabbing victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment, sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta told the Daily Press.

Deputies conducted an area check and quickly located Wheeler’s vehicle.  They conducted a traffic stop and Wheeler was arrested without incident, authorities said.

Wheeler was transported and booked at HDDC on suspicion of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder, according to the sheriff’s report.

The sheriff’s report did not state how or if the two men were acquainted.
