The 2023 Vermont high school winter playoffs are underway. See below for scores, schedules and game details (statistical leaders, game notes) from tournament games in girls basketball, boys basketball, girls hockey and boys hockey.

Postseason play began on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and runs through Saturday, March 11. For updated bracket schedules, visit our Vermont Principals' Association pairings file at HERE.

Note: A 12-3 run to start the third quarter gave the Redhawks a commanding lead in tracking down the program's first non-COVID championship since 2017.

Note: Ahead 36-26 at the break, host CVU (20-1) rode a 24-3 third quarter to put away BHS and book a spot in Monday's Final Four at UVM. ... Sweeney sank four 3s for CVU.

Note: Rice broke open a 59-37 lead, in the 2022 title rematch, on an Eaton triple with 5:32 left.

BFA: Liam Howrigan 17 points. Gabe Howrigan 15 points. Reed Stygles 12 points. Noah Earl 8 points.

SB: Deng Aguek 29 points. Ryan Sweet 10 points.

Note: BFA-St. Albans trailed 43-34 to start the fourth quarter and held South Burlington to three points in the final regulation frame. Liam Howrigan won it at the line going 1 of 2 near the end of overtime to give the Bobwhites the lead. SB's final attempt missed at the buzzer as BFA heads back to the Final Four for the first time since 1996. Aguek connected on five 3s in the third quarter and eight for the game.

D-II boys basketball quarterfinals

Note: Fair Haven outscored Mount Abraham 21-5 in the first quarter. The Eagles were able to cut into the lead, but Fair Haven answered to hold its advantage the rest of the way.
