Note: Trailing 2-0 and starting the fifth inning with no hits, Essex rallied for the season-opening win. Minadeo and Abigail Desilets knocked back-to-back singles and then Mia Bacon, Katie Preston and Anaya laid down consecutive bunts to erase the deficit and seize a 3-2 advantage. In the previous half inning, Anaya came on in relief and worked out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam to keep it a 2-0 game.

Note: After walking the game's first batter, Yates struck out the next 18 Rutland hitters to seize the no-hitter. Shuford smacked her first career home run for the Comets.

Note: Trailing 9-2 in the sixth, Spaulding tallied seven runs to knot the game heading into the final inning. Essex had recorded the final out of the sixth inning on a ground ball to shortstop, but the out was overturned by the umpires. The Crimson Tide capitalized on Kiniry's bases-clearing drive to center that was ruled an error. Then in the seventh Kiniry struck again with the bases loaded, this time clearing the right field fence for a game-sealing grand slam.
