Champlain Valley 56, Middlebury 19

CV: Max Destito (211 passing yards, 3 TDs; 114 rushing yards, 1 TD). Alex Provost (6 catches, 116 yards, 3 TDs). Ollie Cheer (3 rushes, 76 yards, 2 TDs). Jack Sumner (8 rushes, 50 yards, 1 TD; 2 catches, 32 yards). Daniel Tuiquere (1 TD rush).

Midd: Gavin McNulty (TD catch). Cameron Stone (8 rushes, 45 yards). Cole Schnoor (31 rushing yards, TD). Jacob Kemp (85-yard kickoff return for TD). Jackson Gillett (TD pass).

Note: Visiting CVU scored on its first three possessions in the first quarter to roll past Middlebury. Destito capped a big night with a 67-yard TD scamper. CVU ran for 311 yards and held Middlebury to 150 yards from scrimmage.

Rutland 36, Essex 29

R: Eli Pockette (219 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs). Jonah Bassett (13-yard TD catch). Haiden Jones (11-yard TD rush). Jayden Graham (5-yard TD catch).

E: Charlie Bowen (141 passing yards, 2 passing TD). Joshua Brown (35-yard TD catch). Tanner Robbins (15-yard TD catch; 49-yard TD rush, 2-yard rush TD).

Note: Host Rutland led 15-0 early in the second quarter before Essex scored 22 unanswered points. The two went into halftime tied 22-22 after Graham's TD with 37.7 seconds left in the first half. Pockette added two rushing TDs to take the lead and the Raiders held for the win.

St. Johnsbury 49, Hartford 14

SJ: Quinn Murphy (354 passing yards, 5 TDs; 66 rushing yards, 2 TDs).

H: Brody Tyburski (14 carries, 95 yards). Brayden Trombly (59 passing yards, TD).

Note: St. Johnsbury trailed 7-0 before scoring on seven of its next eight possessions.

Bellows Falls 56, Brattleboro 40

BF: Jamison Nystrom (3 TD rushes ; 1 TD pass). Walker James (2 TD rushes; 1 TD catch). Cam Frost (2 TD catches).

Mount Anthony 47, Colchester 20

Note: Burr and Burton possessed the ball for 20:44 in the first half and jumped out to a 21-6 lead by the break.

Note: Rice scored on a wheel route by Luke St. Peter with 3:45 remaining in the first quarter. A defensive showcase kept Otter Valley at bay while the Green Knights sealed Chad Cioffi's first win as coach with a touchdown rush by Mazanti in the fourth quarter.
