Vermont man killed in multi-vehicle crash in Stark

Sep. 6—A Vermont man was killed in a three-car crash Wednesday afternoon along Route 110 in Stark, state police said.

Shortly after 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, state police received a report of the multiple vehicle crash. When first responders arrived, they reported finding three vehicles scattered along the westbound lane of Route 110 with "significant damage," state police said.

According to state police, a 2009 Dodge 2500 pickup driven by Lefty A. Marshall, 33, of Bloomfield, Vermont, was traveling eastbound on Route 110 when it drifted across the centerline into the westbound lane, and struck a 2013 GMC dump truck traveling westbound driven by Leo Caron, 77, of Pittsburg.

State police said the Dodge pickup continued on and struck a second vehicle, a 2012 Honda Odyssey, also in the westbound lane, driven by John Schwind, 53, of Berlin.

Marshall was given medical attention but pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. Caron was transported by EMS to Weeks Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Schwind and a passenger were not injured in the crash, state police said.

Speed appears to be a factor, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Jeremy Brann at 603-223-6187 or Jeremy.C.Brann@dos.nh.gov.
