Is it a burger pop-up? Is it a rock show? Is it a social media phenomenon/troll? Is it high-low art? Is it a go-kart club? Is it a joke? Is it serious? Yes. Bad Larry Burger Club is all of those things. It's also the place where you’ll get, if your online ordering fingers are nimble enough, one of the city’s best burgers.

The team, helmed by Matthew Bolick of Better Half, has been serving that burger for more than a year at pop-ups, smashing beef from local K&C Cattle Co. down to a floppy, latticed and crispy finish, with the caramelized sweetness from the American cheese-blanketed burger countered by the tang of mustard, ketchup and pickles.

It's a perfect smashburger, but due to its popularity, the burger has been maddeningly hard to get your hands on. Well, the process gets a little easier this month. A Very Bad Larry Christmas is taking over the group's Bummer Burrito truck at 89 Rainey St. starting Thursday. In addition to smashburgers, there will be daily specials like a pastrami queso burger and a Rodeo Burger made with LeRoy & Lewis barbecue sauce. The adjacent Little Brother bar will also be serving up festive drinks to go with the burgers.
