Veteran K-pop group EXID release new album to celebrate 10th anniversary

“X” marks the spot as K-pop legends EXID return after three years for a special 10th anniversary album.

Released under Sony Music Entertainment Korea, the new single album’s title commemorates EXID’s anniversary while also representing a cross between them and their fans, who are known as LEGGO.

The new album features both a Korean-language version and an English-language version of the title track “FIRE,” as well as the B-sides “IDK(I DON’T KNOW)” – written and composed by member ELLY — and “LEGGO,” a ballad dedicated to their fans.

While the quintet have released a few Japanese albums in the last couple of years, this is their first new project together since going on hiatus and leaving longtime agency Banana Culture. Preceding their hiatus was the 2019 album “WE,” led by the title track “Me & You.” Members Hani and Jeonghwa were the first to leave Banana Culture in 2019, before the release of “WE.” Meanwhile, members Solji, Hyelin and ELLY left at different times throughout 2020.

On Aug. 13, all five members reunited publicly for the first time since 2019. They held a 10th anniversary livestream on Naver Now called “WE ARE EXID,” and they are now scheduled to host their 10th anniversary in-person fan concert, “FAN-CON <EXID X LEGGO>,” on Oct. 29 to meet LEGGO. The concert will also be streamed online.
