Veteran speaks on exciting opportunity after Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo, USAA gift Super Bowl tickets

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A lucky U.S. Air Force veteran is heading to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas thanks to USAA and Raiders Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Josh Polson, who was born into a military family and served his country for 20 years, spoke to 8 News Now Wednesday about the opportunity.

“I was super surprised,” Polson said of learning he had won the tickets.

He also spoke about his work with the Wounded Warrior Project in his home state of New Mexico.

He told 8 News Now he is excited and grateful to Garoppolo and the USAA organization for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“It actually brought me to tears of how surprised and excited I was,” Polson said. “I’m a huge NFL fan, a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.”

“I thank USAA and the Wounded Warrior Project for presenting me with these tickets, and I also thank Jimmy Garoppolo,” he added. “I can’t wait to meet him. I think it’s going to be super exciting to shake his hand and thank him for inviting me to the Super Bowl.”

Polson and his wife are scheduled to meet Garoppolo ahead of the game at the Super Bowl Experience in Las Vegas.
