Veterans Day 2021: Freebies and discounts in the Panama City area

PANAMA CITY — Several area restaurants and businesses are saying “thank you” by offering free or discounted prices to recognize active and retired military members for Veterans Day on Thursday.

Here is a roundup of some local places giving thanks to veterans. Be sure to check with your favorite location to make sure they are participating. Almost all offers require proof of military service:

Restaurants

Another Broken Egg Cafe: Veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free Patriot French Toast Combo and coffee on Thursday. Dine-in only.

Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal when dining in from a special menu on Thursday. Military guests will receive a $5 bounce-back card to redeem for dine-in, To Go, or delivery within three weeks.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active-duty service members get a free order of 10 boneless wings and fries on Thursday. The offer is available for dine-in or takeout (online ordering excluded).

Denny’s: Veterans and active military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam on Thursday, from 5 a.m. to noon. Dine-in only.

Golden Corral: Military Appreciation Night on Thursday runs from 5 p.m. to close. This includes a free “thank you” meal when dining in.

IHOP: Veterans and active-duty military get free Red, White & Blueberry Pancakes at participating locations on Thursday. Dine-in only.

Little Caesars: Veterans and active-duty military get a free lunch combo at participating stores on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

O’Charley’s: Veterans and active-duty military get a free meal when you dine in on Thursday.

Red Lobster: Veterans, active-duty military and reservists get a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu on Thursday. Dine-in only.

Shane’s Rib Shack: Active-duty military and veterans get a free BBQ Pork or BBQ Chicken Plate Wednesday through Friday. Offer valid in-store only.

Shoney’s: Veterans and active-duty service members get a free all you care to eat breakfast bar on Thursday until 11 a.m. Dine-in only.

Starbucks: Veterans, military service members and military spouses get a free tall (12-ounce) hot brewed coffee at participating stores on Thursday.

Zaxby’s: Show proof of military status for a free Signature Sandwich Meal on Thursday at participating locations.

Retail

Dollar General: Veterans, active-duty military and their families get a 20% discount on in-store and online purchases Thursday through Sunday.

Home Depot: A 10% discount to all veterans on Thursday. Home Depot offers a 10% discount year-round to active duty and retirees.

Office Depot and Office Max: Veterans, active-duty military personnel, retirees, reservists, and their dependents get 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases Thursday through Saturday. Offer is valid in-store only.

Publix: Veterans, active military personnel and their families will save 10% on groceries on Thursday.

Target: A 10% discount through Saturday to active-duty military personnel, veterans and families. The discount can be used on two separate transactions and applies to all in-basket items, online and in-store.

Vitamin Shoppe: On Wednesday and Thursday, veterans and active-duty service members get 20% off all purchases, no minimum required. This offer is available in all retail locations of The Vitamin Shoppe and Super Supplements stores with a valid ID.

Walgreens: Veterans, active-duty military and families receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens through Sunday.

Winn Dixie: Veterans and active military will receive 11% off their total purchase on Thursday.
