Veterans Day 2021: Where to find free meals, drinks and services for those who served

Veterans Day is a great time to say thanks to those who served our country through stints in the military.

Many restaurants and other companies in Pennsylvania are using that day to serve up something free to those who have given so much.

Here is a look at what companies are offering. Unless the listing states otherwise, these offers are only good on Veterans Day, Thursday.

Thanksgiving meals: Erie regional restaurants, charities offer free Thanksgiving meals, Nov. 18-25

Cold turkey: These Erie-area restaurants and stores don't want you to cook on Thanksgiving

Applebee’s: Free meal from a limited menu for veterans and active-duty military.

Bob Evans: Free select menu items to veterans and active-duty military.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Free order of boneless wings and a side of fries, dine-in or takeout, for veterans and active-duty military.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store: Free slice of double-fudge Coca-Cola cake with a meal for all veterans. Various in-store specials and promotions are available throughout November to support military families in partnership with Operation Homefront.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Free pulled pork sandwich for veterans and active military with valid ID.

Dunkin': Free donut for veterans and active-duty military, no purchase necessary.

Glazed, filled or iced: Here are places in the Erie area to find your favorite doughnuts

Eat’n Park: All active and former U.S. military personnel will receive a special 10% discount for the month of November.

Firebirds: Complimentary meals to active-duty military and veterans.

Golden Corral: Free “thank you meal” promotional card that’s good for one free lunch or dinner buffet and beverage throughout November. Offer is limited to one card per person.

IHOP: Free red, white and blue pancakes for all veterans and active-duty military from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Krispy Kreme: Free doughnut and coffee.

Kwikfill: Veterans receive free coffee.

Little Caesars Pizza: Free lunch combo – four slices of Detroit-style deep-dish pizza and 20-ounce Pepsi product – from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for veterans and active-duty military.

Maple Donuts: Free doughnut for veterans.

Max & Erma’s: Free cheeseburger, endless fries, fountain drink and a chocolate chip cookie for veterans.

Meineke Car Care: Free synthetic-blend oil change for each past and present service member.

O’Charley’s: Free meal for veterans and active-duty military. Veterans can choose from O’Charley’s “veterans thank you menu” all day on Veterans Day simply by showing their military IDs.

Outback Steakhouse: Free bloomin’ onion and Coca-Cola products for veterans and active military.

Primanti Bros.: Free classic sandwich.

Quaker Steak and Lube: Free or discounted meals plus a free nonalcoholic beverage for all veterans, active duty and reservists.

Red Lobster: Free appetizer or dessert from a select menu for veterans, active-duty military or reservists with a valid military ID or proof of service.

Sheetz: Free 6-inch turkey sub and regular-size fountain drink for veterans and active-duty military, who can also get a free car wash.

Smokey Bones: Free desserts for active-duty and retired military members.

Starbucks: Free tall (12-ounce) hot coffee for active-duty military, reservists, veterans and military spouses.

Texas Roadhouse: Meal vouchers will be handed out from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lots of the restaurants located throughout central Pa. The vouchers are good for one of 10 entrees, sides and beverage through May 30, 2022. This is a drive-thru event and proof of service is required.

Wendy’s: Free small breakfast combo with valid military ID.
