Veterans Day 2022: Free meals and deals in the Southern Tier for veterans and active-duty military

The nation will pause on Friday, Nov. 11, to honor and remember the men and women who have served and sacrificed in the United States armed forces.

Across the Southern Tier and nation, many businesses will mark the day and say thank you with special deals and free offerings for veterans.

From pancakes and coffee to chicken sandwiches and delicious sweets, here's a list of restaurants and businesses in the Southern Tier offering giveaways and deals to veterans and active duty military personnel on Nov. 11.

Applebee's

Veterans and active-duty military members receive a free entree from a special menu on Nov. 11 at Applebee's. Since 2008, the restaurant has served 10.8 million free meals to the nation's military heroes.

Bob Evans

Veterans and active-duty military get a free meal from a select Bob Evans menu on Nov. 11. This is for dine-in only.

Chick-Fil-A

As it does every year for Veterans Day, Chick-Fil-A will provide a free chicken sandwich to all active-duty and former military personnel on Nov. 11.

Chili's

Veterans and active-duty military members get a free meal from a select menu on Veterans Day at participating Chili's Grill & Bar restaurants. Available for in-restaurant only.

Cracker Barrel

On Nov. 11, veterans and active-duty military get a complimentary slice of "Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake," in-store and online, with any purchase. Use code VETSDAY22 at checkout. Additionally, through Nov. 14, Cracker Barrel offers 25% off military apparel and drinkware, in stores and online, to help honor U.S. veterans and active-duty military.

Dunkin’ Donuts

On Nov. 11, veterans and active military personnel can enjoy a complimentary doughnut at Dunkin' Donuts stores.

IHOP

Participating IHOP restaurants offer all veteran and active-duty service members a stack of red, white and blueberry pancakes on Nov. 11.

Perkins

Veterans and active-duty military get a free “Magnificent Seven Meal” on Nov. 11 at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery with a valid ID.

Red Lobster

Veterans, active-duty military and reservists get a free "Walt's Favorite Shrimp," fries and coleslaw on Nov. 11 at Red Lobster. The offer is available for dine-in and to-go orders placed in-restaurant between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Red Robin

Veterans and active-duty military get a free “Red's Tavern Double” when dining in on Nov. 11 at Red Robin. This classic burger also includes free refills of “Bottomless Steak Fries.”

Starbucks

Starbucks offers a free 12 oz. coffee for veterans, military service members and military spouses on Nov. 11. New this year, Starbucks is expanding this offer to include a free 12-oz iced coffee.

TA Travel Centers of America

TA will continue its tradition of inviting all active-duty military, veterans and reservists to enjoy a complimentary meal on Veterans Day at company-owned quick-service and full-service restaurants nationwide.

7-Eleven

Veterans get a free "Quarter-Pound Big Bite" 100% all-beef hot dog at 7-Eleven stores on Nov. 11. The deal is available both in-store and via delivery through the 7NOW app.
