Veterans Day ceremonies and events

Friday marks America’s 103rd observance of Veterans Day. Here’s a list of ceremonies and events in the Puget Sound area.

>>Veterans Day ceremony, Bellevue

Location: Sunset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 1215 145th Pl SE, Bellevue, WA 98007

Time: 11 a.m.

One of the largest Veterans Day ceremonies in the state will include flag officers and other senior officers from each branch of military service, the USO, the DAR, and from area Police and Fire Departments. This year’s ceremony focuses on women in uniform.

Time: 11 a.m.

Give thanks to those who have served our country. Soiled, weathered and damaged American flags will be collected for honorable retirement.

Location: Issaquah Senior Center, 75 N.E. Creek Way, Issaquah, WA 98027

Time: 11 a.m.

VFW Post 3436 invites the community to a Veterans Day Service to honor veterans.

>>Veterans Day Open House, Issaquah

Location: Blakely Hall, 2550 NE Park Dr, Issaquah, WA 98029

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Swing by to grab some breakfast, watch a video compiled by residents, and thank veterans for their service.

Location: Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042

Time: 11 a.m.

Speeches, Taps, and a rifle volley.

>>Veterans Day ceremony, Lynnwood

Location: Veterans Memorial Park, 194th St SW & 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036

Time: 11 a.m.

A remembrance ceremony that includes a rifle volley and playing of Taps.

>>Veterans Day commemoration and parade, Mill Creek

Ceremony

Location: Veterans Monument in Mill Creek’s Library Park, 15429 Bothell Everett Hwy, Mill Creek, WA 98012

Time: 9 to 10 a.m.

The ceremony will include a welcome address and prayer by Mill Creek Police Chaplain Nick Lewis, presenting of the colors and flag raising by Mill Creek police officer veterans, and the laying of a wreath on the monument.

Parade

Location: Main Street, Mill Creek Town Center

Time: 11 a.m.

A patriotic event with military and high school bands, color guards, vintage military vehicles, and community groups.

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Live music by The American Legion Band - Presented by the Thurston County Veterans Council.

>>Veterans Day ceremony, SeaTac

Location: Veterans Memorial adjacent to the SeaTac Community Center, 13735 24th Ave S, SeaTac, WA, 98168

Time: 10 a.m.

The names that have been added to the memorial since the ceremony held on Veteran’s Day 2021 will be read aloud.

>>Veterans Day celebration, Seattle

Location: The Museum of Flight, 9404 E Marginal Way S, Seattle, WA.

Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Free admission for all veterans and activity duty military on November 11.

>>Veterans Memorial Plaza dedication, University Place

Location: Cirque Park, 7250 Cirque Dr. W.

Time: 11 a.m.

A new Veterans Memorial Plaza will be dedicated in the city of University Place. It will start with a bell ringing and a moment of silence followed by speakers, flag presentation, Taps and a spaghetti lunch.
