Veterans Day At El Toro Canceled Due To Coronavirus

LAKE FOREST, CA — El Toro Cemetery has long been the place to observe and remember the sacrifice of our veterans. On what would have been the 32nd observance of Veterans Day at El Toro Memorial Park, the music and fanfare has gone dark.

"Please be advised that the Veterans Day Observance originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2020 has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic," the cemetery said in a release. "Flags will still be placed on Veteran gravesites."

Typically, color guards do a flag ceremony, and there is a formal presentation of a wreath followed by a firing salute.

In 2019, over 1,000 veterans wreaths were placed at El Toro Memorial Park.

The El Toro Memorial Park Cemetery hopes to once again honor veterans in 2021.
